Oh, what a sky this morning...sliver of a crescent moon looking up to Mars I think, on a background of changing blues.

Once upon a time, in a far away land, there lived a young man who loved the sea.

He followed the ocean road with a ginger cat & an old guitar, led by the stars, defending the weak & weaving dreams. He crafted stories of the Halcyon & the Stormwind Clan, delighting all who would listen.

His laughter could be heard on the wind; his song carried across the waves.

The love that filled his heart will live forever...

"If you jump, I'll beak your fall,

Lift you up & fly away with you into the night."

The Dance

I will never forget being asked to dance one night by my dear friend...as he sat in his wheelchair.

The thought had never crossed my mind that you could dance on wheels.

The thought had never crossed his that he couldn't.

And that's how he embraced this life. With a bright smile, a warm heart, & a joy for living in the moment. His chair didn't confine him, it mobilized him.

The cancer returned, stealthy & swift. The maniacal serial killer that is stalking through my life, adding so many names to his kill list. Special names, belonging to special people.

And his tops the list right now.

The chill winter air makes it shimmer, its light dancing in the early morning quiet.

The black silhouettes of the trees reaching their fingers in a futile attempt to capture the radiance, to hold something that cannot be possessed.

I remember a kiss in the sultry breeze of summer.

A memory trapped in the stillness.
